Over the years, I have tried to find my voice in the digital age. YouTube, TikTok—I never saw something I wanted to stick with and be heard. I am a writer; I love putting words in my head into writing. So, that is what I am going to do.

Welcome to Back Patio Yinzer. The Yinzer in me will write about the thoughts that pop into my head while hanging out on my back patio. I will keep this site to sports. Why? Because they are my life. I work in college athletics for a living. I watch sports as my job. And when I’m not working, I am still watching a game.

Baseball was my first love. Basketball came next. Within the past few years, I have become soccer-obsessed. And yes, as stated in the title, I am a proud YINZER. I like to go dahn to the North Shore and watch the Buccos at PNC.

For better or for worse, the Pirates are in my blood. I grew up going to Three Rivers Stadium. I cried when they tore it down because the younger me thought they were taking the Pirates away. I have spent the last 24 summers living and dying with every pitch. The best part of my day is the first pitch. And yes, I am an optimist. I don’t trash the players. They are doing their job. The front office, though? That is a different story.

Not only do I love Pittsburgh Sports, but I also love all sports. You name the subscription, and I have it. I don’t watch TV shoes. I watch sporting events.
